You can prepare a mixture of grounded cinnamon, honey, water and olive oil and apply it on your hair to lighten it. Honey and cinnamon contain ingredients which act as a natural hydrogen peroxide, thus if applied on the hair a certain degree of hair lightening will become visible. Mix ½ cup of honey with 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 3 tablespoons of grounded cinnamon. You can increase the amount of ingredients added depending on the length of your hair. It is better to add more cinnamon than less to ensure an even discoloration.
Apply the mixture on your hair and allow it to work on your hair for at least 4 hours. The longer you leave the mixture on the more visible the results will be, however keep in mind that you will only be able to achieve a maximum 2 tone lighter shade.
Wrap your hair in a warm towel or apply a shower cap on to prevent the mixture from dripping on your clothes and carpets.
After the desired time has passed wash and condition your hair as usual.
